HOME-ing
(CAMBRIDGE · USA · 2019)
(PHOTOGRAPHY)
HOME-ing is a response to our rapidly changing city through the eyes of its inhabitants who are constantly trying to navigate through it. Through photography and video-recording, the artists in this exhibition find consolation by intervening and documenting fragments of urban environment that are easily unseen. Presented in the Kirkland Gallery, located in what was originally a house, this exhibition explores the ties between memory and displacement that challenge the notion of what is home and not home. What makes something home in our shifting cities?
